ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst football team will visit Gannon on Saturday for a noon PSAC West kickoff at McConnell Family Stadium.

Both teams are coming off losses. The Lakers (2-6, 1-4) dropped a 23-0 decision to California (Pa.) in a game that was started Saturday and then finished on Sunday. Gannon (2-6, 2-3) fell to 23rd-ranked Indiana (Pa.), 43-34.

Mercyhurst is 5-1 against its fellow Erie university, including wins in the last two meetings. The Lakers won at home last year, 24-22, after taking a 38-35 overtime decision against the Golden Knights in 2016. 

Mercyhurst leads the all-time series between the schools, 14-6-1.
