Men's Soccer Edges Lock Haven 4-3

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Salvatore Canzoneri recorded a hat trick as the Mercyhurst men's soccer team took down Lock Haven, 4-3, during Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play on Friday.
 
Alex Garcia Piles scored the other Laker goal while winning goaltender Martin Jarc made one save in net.
 
Fifty seconds into the game, Canzoneri scored his first goal of the contest to get the Lakers on the board first.
 
During the 9th minute Canzoneri put in his second goal of the game to give Mercyhurst a 2-0 lead. Gustavo Requeijo picked up an assist.
 
Christian Wieand brought Lock Haven within one during the 12th minute.
 
During the 29th minute of play, Garcia Piles tallied his fourth goal of the season to make it 3-1. Canzoneri and Michael Blancato had assists.
 
Canzoneri finished his hat trick in the 64thminute to extend the Lakers' lead 4-1. Mario Castel tallied the lone assist.
 
Lock Haven rallied to score two goals in less than two minutes, but it was not enough as Mercyhurst held on to win 4-3. Brian Flatter and Beckham Sibiski tallied those goals.
 
Camden Cook made three saves while Jason Keller stopped two shots, in net for Lock Haven.
 
Mercyhurst (6-4-2, 3-3-2 PSAC) held a 12-10 shot advantage over Lock Haven (5-6-2, 3-4-1 PSAC) while the Bald Eagles had a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.
