The Mercyhurst women's basketball team will play their first home game of the new year when they host Clarion on Monday in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action.

Mercyhurst (5-8, 3-4 PSAC) dropped its most recent game to Indiana 89-38 on Saturday, while Clarion (7-7, 2-6 PSAC) fell 73-83 to Seton Hill and 60-63 to Cheyney in its last two showings.

Mercyhurst remains the No. 8 ranked team among PSAC West schools, sitting one place ahead of No. 9 Clarion.

Clarion leads the all-time series between the two teams 23-21. Mercyhurst swept Clarion in the 2016-17 season claiming both regular season games and defeating the Golden Eagles 74-46 in the PSAC tournament.

Sophomore
Amber Renz leads the Lakers with 16.3 PPG, she contributes 4.67 rebounds per game and is hits 59% from the field, and 89% from the free throw line.
Maria Lapertosa is the only other Laker to break into double digit scoring as she contributes 14.1 PPG, she adds 5.77 rebounds per game. Lapterosa shares the lead for steal with
Emily Shopene with 12 on the season.
Emilee Norris is the rebound leader for the Lakers as she contributes 5.92 per game.

The Golden Eagles have three players averaging in double digit scoring led by Amesha Harden-Pullium (15.9 PPG), Jodan Keeja (11.3 PPG), and Tracy Wiehe (10.0 PPG). Wiehe leads rebounds for Clarion with 7.6 per game. Harden-Pullium and Bekelja lead assists with 44 and 42 respectively.
