Women's Basketball To Host No.17 Edinboro

The Mercyhurst women's basketball team will host Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference opponent No. 17 Edinboro on Wednesday, at 5:30pm in the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. Edinboro (15-2, 11-2 PSAC) are on a two game win streak, with victories over PSAC competitors Clarion (77-51) and Slippery Rock (74-52). Mercyhurst (7-11, 5-7 PSAC) is looking to end the Fighting Scots win streak as they are coming off of a pivotal 61-53 victory over No.14 California (Pa.).
 
The Fighting Scots lead the all-time series between the two teams 43-11, holding a 17-8 record when playing at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. Mercyhurst split the series with Edinboro last year each team claiming victory in their respective home game.

Mercyhurst currently ranks seventh in the PSAC West, five places behind second place Edinboro. 
 
The Lakers are led by Amber Renz who contributes 14.3 points per game, she also records the best free throw percentage (.833), and adds 4.3 rebounds per game. Maria Lapertosa contributes 13.6 points per game, and adds 5.4 rebounds. Vivian Allison rounds out the top three scorers with 6.1 points per game, she tops three point percentage with .438. Emilee Norris leads rebounds for the Lakers with 6.4 per game, she also tops blocks with 28 on the season. Emily Shopene has mustered the most assists and steals for the Lakers with 3 and 19 respectively.
 
The Fighting Scots have four players that average in double digits, led by Jontay Walton who adds 17.1 points per game, she also leads assists with 73, and steals with 49 on the season. Ciara Rosten (14.4), Michelle Jahn (14.1), and Michaela Barnes (12.2) all contribute double-digit points. Rosten is the top rebounder with 10.8 per game, she also leads blocks with 65.
