Brendan Riley scored two goals while
Jack Riley scored the Lakers' other goal to put Mercyhurst over Niagara 3-2 on Saturday.

Michael Verboom had two assists for Mercyhurst (10-10-2, 7-7-2) while
Zach Todd, Josh Lammon and
Wes Baker tallied one assist each.

Justin Kendall and Nick Farmer scored for Niagara (10-12-2, 9-7-2).

Halfway through the first period, Kendall scored to get the Purple Eagles on the board first. His goal was assisted by Eric Cooley and Derian Plouffe,

Three minutes later, Mercyhurst got a two-man advantage and capitalized on it with
Jack Riley's ninth goal of the season. Lammon passed the puck up to Todd on the blue line, then Todd sent the puck through traffic to
Jack Riley who put it in the back of the net from the right side of the net.

During the second period, Farmer gave Niagara its lead back at 7:08 with assists from Zach Mills.

Brendan Riley scored his first collegiate goal to tie the game back up at 2-2. Verboom picked up a bouncing puck and sent it to
Brendan Riley who was waiting in front of the net and put in over the glove of Niagara goaltender Brain Wilson.

Two minutes into the third period,
Brendan Riley scored his second goal of the game to give Mercyhurst its first lead of the game. Baker sent the puck up to Verboom who was on the breakaway with
Brendan Riley, Verboom chipped the puck across to Brendan who found the back of the net to make it 3-2.

The Lakers held on from there to complete their first sweep of the season.

The Lakers were 1-for-4 on the power play while the Purple Eagles finished 0-for-3.

Brandon Wildung made 33 saves in net for Mercyhurst and Brain Wilson stopped 21 out of 24 shots on net for Niagara.
