The Mercyhurst women's basketball team will travel to Johnstown, Pa. to take on Pittsburgh-Johnstown on Saturday in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action. The Lakers are coming off of a 68-83 loss to Seton Hill, while Pittsburgh-Johnstown is on a four game loss streak dropping their last contests to PSAC West teams Indiana (Pa.), Gannon, Edinboro, and California (Pa.).
 
Pittsburgh-Johnstown (7-8, 4-6 PSAC) leads the all-time series between the two teams 18-11. Mercyhurst swept the Mountain Cats in the 2016-2017 season.
 
Mercyhurst (6-9, 4-5 PSAC) is currently seventh in the PSAC West one place ahead of eight ranked Pittsburgh-Johnstown.
 
Mercyhurst is led by Amber Renz who contributes 15.6 points per game, Maria Lapertosa is the only other Laker to break into double-digit scoring with 13.6 points per game. Emilee Norris rounds out the top three offensive players with 6.1 points per game. Norris, leads the team in rebounds with 6.4 per game, and blocks with 27 on the season. Emily Shopene leads the team in assists with 54, she and Lapertosa share the top spot in steals with 13 apiece.  
 
Pittsburgh-Johnstown is led by Olivia McCabe who scores 15.6 points per game, she also leads rebounds with 11 per game. Gabrielle Smith averages 13.9 points per game and contributes 7.1 rebounds. Tori Moreland rounds out the top three offensive players scoring 9.2 points per game.
