BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst women's tennis team ran a combined record of 10-0 in competition at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Singles/Doubles Championships on Saturday at Bloomsburg.

Kayla Frost and
Adrianna Jeffress enjoyed 2-0 days in singles play to qualify for the quarterfinals. Then, in doubles action, Gomez de Segura and
Adina Spahalic qualified for the semifinals -- as did teammates Frost and Jeffress -- to set up a collision between the two Laker duos on Sunday.
Gomez de Segura earned her wins over Leandra Roelker (West Chester) and Tatiana Batalla (Edinboro), winning both matches with identical 6-1, 6-1, scores.
Frost bested Aubrey Stetina (East Stroudsburg), 6-0, 6-0, and Vitoria Nery (Bloomsburg), 4-6, 6-1, 10-8.
Jeffress earned her victories over Taylor Capoferri (Kutztown), 6-0, 6-0, and Kaelyn Zak (Seton Hill), 6-3, 6-1.
During pairs competition, Gomez de Segura and Spahalic blanked Capoferri and Alicia Pursell (Kutztown), 8-0, and then outlasted Zak and Jenna Bailey (Seton Hill), 8-5, while the Jeffress/Frost combination claimed victories over Stetina and Marina Zardet (East Stroudsburg), 8-1, and Nery and Cassidy Calimer (Bloomsburg), 8-4.
The PSAC event will finish on Sunday.
