Women's Soccer Draws With Edinboro

Box Score EDINBORO, Pa. -- Laia Santos and Anja Korte scored goals for the Mercyhurst women's soccer team as it tied with Edinboro, 2-2, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday.

Santos scored in the 18th minute, receiving a cross from Maia Russo, to give the Lakers their only lead at 1-0.

Goals by Edinboro's Danielle Chatten and Ashley Mutkus in the 59th and 78th minutes, respectively, enabled the hosts to grab a 2-1 advantage in the second half.

Korte found the net in the 84th minute, getting an assist from Maggie Hilton.

Mercyhurst goalkeeper Vilde Wold made 11 saves, including three during extra-time, to preserve the tie. Her counterpart, Sarah Baskey, had five stops for the Fighting Scots.

Edinboro (4-3-2, 3-3-2) outshot the Lakers, 26-8.

Mercyhurst (2-3-3, 2-3-2) will return to action with a 1 p.m. PSAC contest on Saturday at Kutztown.
