ERIE, Pa. -- The 10th-ranked Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team suffered a 10-7 loss to third-ranked Le Moyne in non-conference action on Sunday at Tullio Field.
Kristin Anderson and
Carly Zimmerman scored two goals apiece for the Lakers (2-1).
Taylor Izzo,
Grace Lawson and
Janelle Williams also tallied goals while
Lacey Netti was credited with one assist.
Zimmerman had four draw controls and
Diana Schmitt picked up four groundballs.
In goal,
Gabby Gravino stopped 11 shots.
For visiting Le Moyne (3-0), Bryanna Fazio, Vicki Graveline, Sidney Hall and Jaqueline Pardee scored two goals each.
The Dolphins broke a 2-all tie with five consecutive goals in the first half.
After taking a 7-2 advantage into intermission, Le Moyne eventually pushed the margin to 9-3 before Mercyhurst charged back with four of the game's last five goals.
Winning goalie Hannah George had five saves for Le Moyne.
The Dolphins held a 28-20 shot advantage and an 11-8 edge in draw controls.
Mercyhurst will be in action next on Tuesday, Mar. 21, for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup at Seton Hill.
