SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst women's basketball team will visit Slippery Rock on Wednesday for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contest.
Mercyhurst (17-5, 12-4) is in fourth place in the PSAC West Division. It won its last game, 90-50, over Clarion on Saturday. SRU (9-14, 6-11) has lost four straight contests.
Mercyhurst leads the all-time series, 16-14, and has won the last three meetings.
The Lakers won a 79-54 decision earlier this season on Jan. 3.
Angela Heintz finished with a triple-double, compiling 20 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds.
Natalie Piaggesi added a double-double, putting up 19 points and securing 10 rebounds.
Maria Lapertosa contributed 13 points. Lexi Carpenter led Slippery Rock with 15 points and Morgan Henderson pulled down 10 rebounds.
Natalie Piaggesi, the PSAC's top shot-blocker with 2.0 swats per game, leads Mercyhurst in scoring and rebounds with averages of 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds. She rates sixth in the PSAC in scoring, third in field-goal percentage (.576) and sixth in free-throw percentage (.821).
Angela Heintz leads Mercyhurst in assists (6.3) and steals (1.7). She also averages 15.6 points and 6.8 rebounds. She ranks second in the PSAC in assists, eighth in scoring and 10th in field-goal percentage (.425).
Lexi Carpenter is Slippery Rock's leading scorer -- and the top scorer in the PSAC -- with 19.1 points per game. She also leads the conference in free-throw percentage (.880) and rates fourth in assists (4.8).
The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. in the Morrow Fieldhouse.
