ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst women's basketball team will visit Gannon for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contest on Saturday in a regular-season finale for both teams. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Hammermill Center.

Mercyhurst (21-6, 16-5) is tied for third in the PSAC West Division with Edinboro. Currently, the Lakers are in line for the fourth seed in the PSAC Tournament, but with a win and Edinboro loss, the Lakers could move up to the three-seed. MU's 21-win mark is the third-highest win total in program history, trailing only the teams in 1994-95 (24-6) and 1988-89 (22-7).

Mercyhurst defeated Gannon earlier in the season, 56-44, on Jan. 18. Natalie Piaggesi had a double-double, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Angela Heintz and Jalin Steel added 11 points apiece for the Lakers. Heintz also had four steals while Alex Artise made five steals and Hayley Andres hauled down seven rebounds. Maggie Mitchell led Gannon's scorers with 15 points while Lanise Saunders grabbed 11 rebounds.

Piaggesi leads Mercyhurst in several categories including points per game (16.4), rebounds (7.0), field-goal percentage (.579), blocks (2.0) and free-throw percentage (.808). She rates second in the PSAC in field-goal percentage, second in blocks, fifth in scoring and ninth in free-throw percentage.

Heintz leads Mercyhurst in assists (6.4) and steals (1.7). She averages 15.1 points and 7.0 rebounds. She ranks second in the PSAC in assists and eighth in scoring.

Steel has an average of 10.3 points per game for the Lakers.

Mitchell is Gannon's leading scorer. She ranks fourth in the PSAC with 17.3 points per game. Mitchell is also second in free-throw percentage (.875) and eighth in assists (3.7) while Saunders rates fifth in blocks (1.6) and sixth in rebounds (8.3).

Following the regular season, the Lakers will play the program's first home playoff game since March 11, 1995, when they host a PSAC Tournament First Round game on Monday.
