Football To Wrap Up Season With Trip To Lock Haven

THE GAME
The Mercyhurst football team will play its final game of the season when it visits Lock Haven for a PSAC crossover contest on Saturday, Nov. 11. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.

Both teams are coming off home losses. The Lakers fell to third-ranked Indiana (Pa.), 36-10, while LHU lost to East Stroudsburg, 37-27.

THE COACHES
Marty Schaetzle (Bucknell '83) is in his 16th season as head coach for Mercyhurst. He owns a 81-94 record. He is a three-time PSAC West Coach of the Year (2008, 2010, 2014) and has coached the Lakers to two PSAC West regular-season championships (2010, 2012) and one PSAC overall title (2010). Prior to coaching at Mercyhurst, Schaetzle has held assistant coach positions at Bucknell, Shippensburg, Northern Arizona, Sonoma State, Arizona and Albany.

Dave Taynor (Urbana '99) is in his third season as head coach for Lock Haven. He owns an 8-24 record as LHU's coach -- and 45-64 overall record in 10 years as a collegiate head coach. He was head coach at Urbana for seven seasons. Prior to becoming a head coach, Taylor as an assistant at alma mater Urbana, Tiffin, Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Culver-Stockton and Louisville.
