Field Hockey Hosts Seton Hill

The Mercyhurst field hockey team will host Seton Hill in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play on Wednesday. The Lakers fell earlier in the season to Seton Hill by a score of 3-2, Maia Cheeks scored the game winning goal against Mercyhurst with 45 seconds left in regulation. The Lakers are coming to this week of competition after splitting their previous weeks game dropping a 7-0 contest to (#7) West Chester, and defeating St. Thomas Aquinas 6-1. While Seton Hill is in a seven game rut their last victory coming from a 5-1 win over Converse College. 

The Lakers are led by Nicolette Tomani who has eight goals, and one assist on the season for a total of 17 points. Clare Ahern has 12 points on the season for contributing three goals and six assists, while Bryna Cook has five goals for ten points to round out the top three players. Alexis Skibitsky has contributed three goals this season, while Katie Lechner, Taylor Balser and Leah Rogers all have produced two goals. 

Tomani has had a pair of two goal games throughout the season, she scored two of six goals against Converse college, as well as both goals in a 2-0 victory over Mansfield. Skibitsky and Lechner both have had a single two goal game, each player recorded a pair of goals in Mercyhurst's 6-1 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas. 

Victoria Triaga is the primary goalkeeper for Mercyhurst she has played 1,041 minutes in net posting a 3.28 goals allowed average and a .645 save percentage across 16 games.

Seton Hill has a pair of players that have broken into double digit points this season and are led by Molly Childress with 14 points off of five goals and four assists. Cheeks, is the second highest performing offensive player with five goals and two assists for 12 points. Zyah Newsome has posted two goals for four points on the season. Jane Eberhardt is the main goalkeeper for Seton hill posting a 3.87 goals allowed average, and a .642 save percentage over fourteen games. 

Childress has had two multiple goal games, as she posted a pair of goals in the Griffins 5-1 victory over Converse and two goals against Mercyhurst in the teams last contest. Cheeks has had one multiple goal game when she posted two goals against Converse as well. 
 
The contest is set to be help at 4 pm on Tulio Field.
