Men's Hoops Welcomes UPJ To MAC

ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team will host Pittsburgh-Johnstown for a 3 p.m. Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday. The Lakers are coming off Wednesday's 63-62 victory over Seton Hill, which improved Mercyhurst's overall record to 7-7 and its PSAC mark to 5-5.

Mercyhurst's leading scorer is Durrell McDonald, who is averaging 14.3 points per game. DaJuan Dent is the Lakers' leading rebounder with 4.4 per game while H'ian Hale paces the squad in assists (56) and steals (36).

SHU is led by four scorers in double-figures: A.J. Leahey (21.8), Isaac Vescovi (14.4), Dale Clancy (12.3) and Jake Laravie (10.1). The Cats (10-6, 5-5) won their previous contest -- a 101-70 decision over California (Pa.)

The Lakers lead the all-time series between the programs, 22-19. The teams split last year's season series; the road team won each time.
