CANTON, Ohio -- The Mercyhurst volleyball team split a pair of matches during Saturday action at Malone's Hall of Fame Challenge. The Lakers fell to host Malone, 3-0, before outlasting Ohio Dominican, 3-2, and ultimately claiming the tournament championship.
Haley Adams and
Hannah Tombaugh represented the Lakers on the All-Tournament Team.

Malone 3, Mercyhurst 0
Lauren Kenny converted 10 kills while
Hannah Tombaugh made 20 assists for Mercyhurst, which fell in straight sets, 25-18, 29-27, 25-21.
Makayla Molle added 14 assists and three different Lakers recorded double-digit digs:
Samantha Giardina (17),
Katie Baird (11) and
Sarah Puckett (10).
For the host Pioneers, Haley Cool, Veronica Gehring and Mallory Adams put down nine kills apiece. Cathryn Miller made 34 assists and Lynsey Trusty totaled 21 digs.
Mercyhurst 3, Ohio Dominican 2
For the second consecutive day, the Lakers earned a victory after falling behind 2-0, finishing with a 19-25, 19-25, 25-21, 26-24, 15-9, decision.
Sarah Wegrzyn compiled 15 kills and 11 digs to lead the way for Mercyhurst (3-1). Kenny added 12 kills and
Haley Adams contributed 11.
Tombaugh and Molle handled setting duties with 22 and 21 assists, respectively. On defense,
Samantha Giardina finished with 20 digs, Tombaugh had 14 digs and Puckett made 13 digs.
For Ohio Dominican, Tory Thompson ended with 18 kills and Jackie Oestreich had 17 kills.
