INDIANA, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst baseball team swept a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division doubleheader against Indiana (Pa.), 11-3 and 13-0, on Friday.

Game One: Mercyhurst 11, Indiana 3
The Lakers had seven extra-base hits, including home runs by
Austin Alonge and
Jimmy Latona, as they won the opener. Alonge and Latona added two RBI apiece. Latona scored three runs.
Also for Mercyhurst,
Collin Fantaskey finished 2-for-3, including a triple, double, RBI and run.
Cameron Balego also went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and one RBI while
Brendan Cox was 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and one run.
Daniel Elliott scored twice and tripled.
Winning pitcher
Colin McKee went the distance for Mercyhurst, allowing three hits in seven innings of work. Of the three runs scored against McKee, two were earned. He recorded 11 strikeouts and five walks.
The Lakers got on the board in the first inning on a two-run homer by Alonge and led the rest of the way. Latona had a two-run home run during the Lakers' four-run fourth as MU went up, 7-0. Cox had a two-run single in the seventh.
Game Two: Mercyhurst 13, Indiana 0
Cam Knott pitched a seven-hit shutout for the Lakers (35-10, 21-5), recording eight strikeouts without a walk.
Alonge led the offense, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and three RBI. Cox added a 2-for-3 game with a double, stolen base and three runs.
Also for MU,
Hank Morrison had a home run and three RBI. Balego and Elliott scored two runs apiece. Latona drove in two runs.
In the Mercyhurst first, a groundout, sacrifice fly and wild pitch plated the first three Laker runs before a Latona RBI single became the visitors' first-run scoring hit.
Morrison had a two-run homer in the Lakers' three-run second. Alonge added a two-run double in Mercyhurst's four-run fifth.
The same two teams will meet again on Saturday -- this time in Erie at 1 p.m. -- as the Lakers celebrate their "Senior Day."
