BLOOMSBURG, Pa. --
Janelle Williams and
Taylor Izzo scored four goals each to lead the fifth-ranked Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team to an 18-3 victory over Bloomsburg in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Saturday.
Williams also had two assists and five draw controls for the Lakers (13-2, 8-1), who snapped a 1-all tie with five straight goals and led the rest of the way. Mercyhurst also enjoyed a 10-0 run later in the contest.
Morgan Parker added two goals while single goal-scorers for Mercyhurst were
Jacquelyn Dufresne,
Cassandra Ellis,
Emily Gebhardt,
Kyla Keefe,
Grace Lawson,
Catherine Meegan,
Angelina Simon and
Carly Zimmerman.
Gebhardt also tallied two assists and four groundballs. Zimmerman contributed one assist and two caused turnovers.
Also for the Lakers,
Kristina Roberti had one assist and two caused turnovers.
Amy Hoffman made an assist.
Emily Koestler caused two turnovers.
Gabby Gravino was the winning goaltender, making three saves during the first half. Gravino was relieved by
Bella Corieri in the second half; Corieri stopped two shots.
Nikki Fisher had two goals to lead Bloomsburg (4-9, 2-8).
Mercyhurst outshot its hosts, 37-14, and held a 17-6 edge in draws.
The Lakers will be in action next when they visit Slippery Rock on Wednesday. Opening draw is at 7 p.m.
