ERIE, Pa. --
Olivia Keirn and
Grace Lawson scored three goals apiece as the fifth-ranked Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team outlasted 20th-ranked East Stroudsburg for a 10-7 victory in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play at Tullio Field on SUnday.
Janelle Williams added two goals while
Kyla Keefe and
Carly Zimmerman contributed one goal and one assist each for the Lakers (12-1, 8-0).
Emily Gebhardt had four assists and
Taylor Izzo had one assist.
Also for Mercyhurst,
Christa Morrison picked up three groundballs while Keefe and Williams recorded five draw controls each.
Winning goaltender
Gabby Gravino totaled 10 saves.
Keirn had the game-winning goal, breaking a 7-7 tie with 8:17 left in the contest. She also tallied a critical insurance goal with 3:29 to go.
Mercyhurst had opened the contest on a 4-1 run in the first half before the visiting Marauders (11-3, 6-3) battled back to tie the game at 6-6. The Lakers then scored four of the game's final five goals to claim the win.
East Stroudsburg's leading point-getters were Samantha Hosford, Chressie Rahmer and Kaitlynn Wiltrout, who had one goal and one assist each. Rahmer controlled four draws, Kerry Mulcahy had three groundballs and Caitlyn O'Connell caused two turnovers for the Warriors. Goalie Jessica Maxwell stopped 11 shots.
Mercyhurst outshot East Stroudsburg, 27-22, and held a 12-7 advantage on draws.
The Lakers will play their next game on Tuesday when they host Indiana (Pa.) for a 4 p.m. PSAC contest.
