EDINBORO, Pa. --
Grace Lawson scored five goals, leading the seventh-ranked Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team to a 12-9 victory over Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference opponent Edinboro on Tuesday.
Kristin Anderson added three goals and one assist while
Taylor Izzo,
Olivia Keirn,
Janelle Williams and
Carly Zimmerman contributed one goal apiece for the Lakers (8-1, 5-0), who won their seventh straight contest.
Emily Gebhardt made two assists and
Kyla Keefe had one assist.
Williams and Gebhardt finished with five and four draw controls, respectively, while
Kristina Roberti picked up seven groundballs. Williams also caused three turnovers.

Gabby Gravino totaled three saves.
The Lakers and Fighting Scots (5-4, 1-4) traded two-goal runs for much of the contest: Mercyhurst took leads of 2-0, 4-2, 6-4 and 8-6, before Edinboro answered each time to the the score.
Mercyhurst ended the game with a 4-1 run, taking the lead on a goal by Zimmerman with 18:27 remaining. Lawson, Anderson and Williams also had goals in the final stretch.
Anna Purdy was the leading scorer for Edinboro, finishing with three goals and two assists. Rebecca Martin had three goals and one assist.
The Lakers outshot Edinboro, 29-20, and held a 13-10 advantage on draws. Edinboro goalie Paige Skinner recorded 11 saves.
Mercyhurst will be in action again this weekend with a pair of PSAC road games against Millersville (Friday, 4 p.m.) and Shippensburg (Saturday, 3 p.m.).
