ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey team hopes to clinch its 16th consecutive College Hockey American regular-season championship this weekend when conference opponent Penn State visits for a two-game series. Contests are scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday; the Lakers will also celebrate "Senior Day" on Saturday.
MU has seven seniors on its roster -- all four-year seniors -- that it will honor before the regular-season finale. That group includes 
Jaclyn Arbour, 
Hannah Bale, 
Jenna Dingeldein, 
Kathy Donohue, 
Emily Janiga, 
Lauren Kilroy and 
J'nai Mahadeo.
With two games to play on the conference schedule, the Lakers (13-3-2 CHA) hold a two-point lead over second-place Syracuse (12-4-2). While Mercyhurst hosts the Nittany Lions, which it went 1-0-1 against earlier in the season, the Orange will welcome Lindenwood. SU went 1-0-1 against Lindenwood in its earlier meeting.
The CHA Tournament will begin with the 3-6 and 4-5 matchups at campus sites on Feb. 26-28. The CHA Frozen Four, which Mercyhurst and Syracuse have byes to, will take place Mar. 4-5 at the HarborCenter in Buffalo, N.Y.
