ERIE, Pa. --
Kyle Dutra had a pair of goals, leading a quartet of Lakers with two-point nights, but it was not enough as the Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team fell to Sacred Heart, 6-4, during Atlantic Hockey action in front of 1,397 fans at the Mercyhurst Ice Center on Saturday.
Jonathan Charbonneau added a goal and an assist while
Derek Barach and
Lester Lancaster chipped in with two assists each.

MU never led in the contest, falling behind on three different occasions -- the third time for good.
SHU's Justin Danforth led all point-getters with three goals and one assist.
Jordan Minello gave the visiting Pioneers (9-11-3, 8-8-2) an early 1-0 lead before a Dutra power-play goal evened the score at 1-1 before the first intermission. Lancaster assisted the Mercyhurst goal.

Early in the third, the teams scored 27 seconds apart: Danforth, short-handed, for SHU and then Dutra on the power play for Mercyhurst. Dutra received assists from

Zach Luczyk extended Sacred Heart's advantage to 5-3 midway through the third before Best brought the Lakers within one again, scoring on the power play with assists from Barach and Charbonneau. That goal occurred with 3:10 remaining.
Mercyhurst had one final opportunity to even the score, going on the power play with 1:34 remaining, but Danforth finished his hat trick into an empty Laker net with 42 seconds to go.
The Lakers were potent on the power play, going 3-for-8, while SHU finished 1-for-4. Mercyhurst held a 32-22 shot advantage.
