PARKERSBURG, W. Va. - The #14 Mercyhurst University men's lacrosse team won its fourth straight in convincing fashion Friday night with a 16-4 victory over Ohio Valley University in an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) contest. The Lakers, who scored the first 12 goals of the game, improved to 6-4 overall and to 3-1 in the conference while the Fighting Scots fell to 0-12 and 0-5 respectively.
Mercyhurst opened a 4-0 lead after a quarter, led 9-0 at intermission, and 13-2 after three quarters before settling for the 16-4 final.
Freshmen
Colin Greenway and
Alex Bianchi joined sophomore
Keyan McQueen in totaling three goals apiece. Greenway, who cashed the game's only man-up goal in the first quarter, had one assist in three prior games while Bianchi had no points and just one game-played coming into the contest. McQueen upped his goal-scoring to 15 on the season.
Senior
Trevor Vargo recorded two goals, his 16th and 17th, with solo tallies coming from sophomores

Michael Convery (2). Greenway and Bianchi topped the squad with four points each.
Mercyhurst graduate student
Michael Grace (6-4) worked the first half in goal and was credited with one save. Junior
Matt Wells played the final thirty minutes, allowed all four Ohio Valley goals, and made six saves.
The Lakers dominated the statistics. They attempted 57 shots to Ohio Valley's 24, won 16 of 24 face-offs, and scooped up 40 of 59 ground balls.
Mercyhurst has outscored its last four opponents a combined 48-18. Sophomore
John Plaskey had an assist and joined Vargo in extending their scoring streaks to seven games. Poe joined Greenway and Bianchi in collecting their first collegiate goals.
Mercyhurst will be back on the road next Wednesday when it travels to Painesville, Ohio, for an important conference game against top-ranked Lake Erie College. The Storm, scheduled to play at #8 Seton Hill on Saturday, are 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the ECAC. Game time next Wednesday is 6:00 p.m.
