RENSSELAER, Ind. -- The Mercyhurst women's basketball team fell to Saint Joseph (Ind.), 74-61, at the SJC Thanksgiving Classic on Friday.

Angela Heintz led the Lakers with 24 points while Natalie Piaggesi finished with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Katie Parks led host Saint Joseph with 23 points and eight rebounds.

Mercyhurst held a 39-38 halftime lead before cold shooting hurt the Lakers in the second half. During the second, the Lakers were 7 of 25 from the field (28.0 percent) while Saint Joseph went 14 of 26 (53.8 percent).

The Lakers will return to action at the classic on Saturday with a matchup against Hillsdale.
