ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's basketball team will host Slippery in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) west matchup. The Lakers will face off against The Rock Saturday, January 10 at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center (MAC). Tipoff is scheduled 3:00 p.m.

Mercyhurst is coming off a win over Mansfield in their last PSAC crossover of the season. The Lakers defeated the Mountaineers on their home floor Wednesday night, 82-60. Jean Onana led the way for the Lakers, scoring a game-high 27 points. Onana was 9-15 from the field and drained five three pointers, a career-high, and went 4-4 from the free-throw line. James Ewing was the only other Laker to score in double figures, scoring 10 points and grabbed five rebounds. As a team, the Lakers shot 48.4% (31-64) from the field. The bench also outscored the Mountaineers 49-18 in the contest.

 The Rock is currently second in the PSAC West and fifth in this week's CoSIDA Atlantic Region poll. Slippery Rock is coming off a win at home over Bloomsburg Wednesday, January 7, 82-55. With the win, The Rock picked up their 12 victory of the season and seventh in the conference. Slippery Rock is fourth in the PSAC in scoring offense, averaging 78.5 points per game, and are first in offensive rebounding, grabbing 741 offensive boards. Guard Jamal Gatali leads The Rock in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.2 points and 7.6 rebounds.

Last season, Slippery Rock and Mercyhurst split a pair of meetings, as they have the past four previous years.
