ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's basketball team will travel to Clarion in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division matchup. Wednesday night's game is scheduled to tipoff at 5:30 p.m. at Waldo S. Tippin Gymnasium.  
 
 
The Lakers defeated Slippery Rock, 80-68, Saturday afternoon at the MAC. Natalie Piaggesi recorded another double-double, while all five Laker starters scored in double figures. The sophomore scored a game-high 22 points along with 16 rebounds and went a perfect 10-10 from the free-throw line. Piaggesi had her best week as a Laker, averaging 20.5 points, 16.5 rebounds, and six blocks in two games. Piaggesi is 10th in the PSAC in scoring (14.4 ppg), 15th in rebounding (7.6 rpg), and 3rd in blocked shots (2.4). She now has five double-doubles and has scored in double figures in 14 of 16 games.
 
 
Clarion is coming off a 73-57 loss to Seton Hill on the road Saturday, January 10. The Golden are led by point guard Tania Holmes. Holmes is 12th in the PSAC in scoring, averaging 13.8 points per game. Sophomore guard Delrika Jones-Carey leads the team in rebounding, averaging 8.9 boards a game. Jones-Carey is 7th in the PSAC in rebounding. The Golden Eagles are currently ninth in the PSAC Western Division with a 1-14 overall record and 0-10 conference mark.
 
The Lakers split a pair of matchups last season with each team winning on their home floor. The Lakers defeated Clarion January 22, 2014, 66-49, at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.
