ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's basketball team heads to Clarion for a key Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division contest on Sunday, February 23. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start at Tippin Gymnasium.

The Lakers are 4-10 in the Western Division, tied with Clarion and Seton Hill for sixth place. The top six teams in each division at the end of the regular season will qualify for the PSAC Tournament. To advance to the playoffs, Mercyhurst needs to finish ahead of Seton Hill in the standings and/or tie with Clarion.

Coach Deanna's Richard squad lost, 83-63, at Indiana (Pa.) Wednesday. Four Lakers scored in double figures, led by freshman
Alex Artise, who matched a career high with 15 points.

Clarion fell, 73-33, at #5 Gannon Wednesday. The Eagles shot 23.1 percent from the floor in the loss. Emma Fickel scored eight points to lead Clarion.

Adrienne Kloecker leads the Lakers with 14.8 points per game.
Alayna White is averaging 13.2 points and 8.5 rebounds a game. Hannah Heeter paces Clarion with 13.7 points and a PSAC-leading 11.9 boards per game.

On January 22, the Lakers beat Clarion, 66-49, at the MAC. Mercyhurst led, 58-29, with 8:45 left in the contest. Kloecker scored 23 points on 8-12 shooting, while Artise scored 15 points. The Lakers shot 10-25 on three-pointers in the victory.
The game is being played Sunday due to a scheduling conflict at Tippin Gymnasium Saturday.
