ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's basketball team prepares for non-conference matchup with West Virginia Wesleyan Wednesday night at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center (MAC). Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
 
Mercyhurst suffered their fourth Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) loss of the season Saturday, December 6, at Edinboro, 64- 91. Angela Heintz led the Lakers in scoring with 13, as Mercyhurst had nine different players score during the contest. Mercyhurst's leading scorer, Adrienne Kloecker, was held to just two of 12 shooting from the floor and was 1-3 from three-point range. Mercyhurst shot 28-68 (41.2%) from the field and was 5-16 from three-point range.

The Lakers look to pick up their second non-conference win of the season, with their first win coming at home versus Tiffin, 91-79, November 25. Kloecker scored her career-high against the Dragons, posting 31 points on 13-22 shooting. As a team, the Lakers made a season-high 13 three-point field goals in route to their first victory of the season.
 
West Virginia Wesleyan comes into Wednesday's non-conference matchup off a conference loss at home to Concord, 70-77. Forward Mari Stewart led the way for the Bobcats, as she posted 12 points and eight rebounds. After six games, West Virginia Wesleyan is averaging 64.5 points, 45.0 rebounds, and 12.5 assists per game. Stewart leads the team, averaging nearly a double-double with 11.5 points and 9.8 rebounds.

Wednesday's game will mark the fourth time these two schools have met with the home teams winning the first three. The Bobcats lead the all-time series, 2-1.
