ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's basketball team looks to extend their five game win streak to seven with two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division opponents West Chester and Cheyney coming into the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. The Lakers will face off against the Golden Rams Tuesday, while the Wolves will come in Wednesday. Both games are set to tipoff at 7:30 p.m.

Mercyhurst is coming off a non-conference win over Mountain East Conference opponent Notre Dame (OH), 68-52. The Lakers shot 50.0% (28-56) from the field in the victory and held the Falcons to just 24.1% (13-54) shooting. The defensive effort Friday night was superb, led by senior James Ewing, who blocked three shots, pulled down eight rebounds and scored a team-high 13 points. Gerrae Williams and Sean Beins each added 12. Mercyhurst currently ranks third in the PSAC in scoring defense at 64.4 points per game.

West Chester comes in to Tuesday's game fifth in the PSAC Eastern Division with a 3-5 overall record and a 2-2 conference mark. The Golden Rams haven't played since Saturday, December 6, at Shippensburg in a 68-74 loss. They have lost their last four games coming into play Tuesday night. West Chester is fourth in the PSAC in three-point defense, allowing only 55 made three-point fields in their first eight games. Avery Brown leads the team in scoring, averaging 11.5 points per game.

The Wolves of Cheyney are ninth in the PSAC East, riding a 1-7, 0-3 PSAC record in to Tuesday's game at Edinboro. The Fighting Scots will host Cheyney before the team travels to play the Lakers Wednesday night. Kevin Larkin leads the team scoring 18.3 points per game and is currently the third highest scorer in the PSAC. Jerrod Johnson leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 5.5 per game.
