Women's Basketball Suffers 91-60 Loss At Findlay On Saturday Afternoon

FINDLAY, OH – The Mercyhurst women's basketball team lost, 91-60, at Findlay (OH.) Saturday afternoon. Junior guard Adrienne Kloecker led the Lakers in scoring with 19 points during the non-conference matchup.

On Saturday, the Lakers fell behind, 11-2, and eventually tied the game, 13-13, with 10:21 left in the half.

The 11-2 Mercyhurst run was sparked by Kloecker, as she drained a three and teammate Angela Heintz followed by making three-pointer of her own to cut the lead to three, 11-8. After an Oiler made layup, Kloecker answered with five consecutive points to tie the game at 13.

A made three-pointer from sophomore Katie Fischer gave Mercyhurst their first lead at the 9:23 mark, 16-15. Alex Artise would extend the Laker lead to three, 18-15, with just 8:50 remaining in the half. However, Mercyhurst would lose control of their lead and fall behind, taking a 12 point deficit into halftime, 43-31.

The Lakers were unable to pull the game back within single digits in the second half, as they were outscored, 48-29, in the period.

Natalie Piaggesi was a rebound shy of recording her second double-double of the season, as she finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.
