ERIE, Pa.- The #8/8 Mercyhurst women's hockey team hosts RIT this weekend at the Mercyhurst Ice Center. The College Hockey America (CHA) series opens Friday, November 21, at 3 p.m. and concludes Saturday, November 22, at 2 p.m.

Mercyhurst has a 10-2-1 record, including a 3-1-0 mark in CHA play. It won, 3-0, at Ohio State on November 17.
Amanda Makela recorded 16 saves for her fifth shutout of the season, as
Sarah Robello,
Hannah Bale, and
Jenna Dingeldein each scored for the Lakers.

RIT is 6-5-3 overall and 1-2-1 in the CHA this season. It split two meetings with Penn State last weekend. The Tigers won, 3-0, on November 14 before dropping a 3-2 overtime decision to the Nittany Lions the next day. Ali Binnington made 22 saves in Friday's win, tallying her third shutout of the season.

Mercyhurst is one of three teams with 10 or more wins this season, joining #1/1 Boston College and #3/3 Wisconsin in that club.
Emily Janiga leads the Lakers with nine goals and six assists, while
Jenna Dingeldein has five goals and eight helpers. Makela has registered a 1.00 goals against average in her 13 starts. She ranks second nationally in GAA and third in save percentage at .951 on the year.

Binnington leads RIT with a 1.09 GAA and a .957 save percentage, both top three in the country. Kolbee McCrea paces the Tiger attack with five goals and three assists.

Mercyhurst leads the all-time series, 7-2-0, with all nine meetings coming in the last two seasons. The Lakers swept four meetings in the 2012-13 season and won three of five matchups last season.
