ERIE, Pa.- The #7/8 Mercyhurst women's hockey team hosts Robert Morris in the College Hockey America (CHA) opener this weekend. On Friday, October 31, the teams face off at 7 p.m. The teams meet again on Saturday, November 1, at 2 p.m. at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.

Mercyhurst has a 6-1-1 record heading into CHA play. It swept Minnesota State last weekend, beating the Mavericks, 5-1, and 2-1, at the MIC.
Sarah Robello posted two goals and two assists to earn CHA Rookie of the Week honors.
Megan Whiddon scored two goals in Friday's victory.

Robert Morris is 3-6-1 this season. It won and tied against Northeastern last weekend. Ashley Vesci scored twice to lead the Colonials to a 3-2 win on Friday and then Rikki Meilleur scored a pair of goals in a 2-2 tie the next day.

Emily Janiga leads the CHA in points with nine this year. Robello and
Jenna Dingeldein have each scored eight points. Vesci, Katherine Murphy, and Katie Fergus have each recorded six points for RMU.
Amanda Makela has a 1.12 goals against average in eight starts, while Courtney Vinet and Jessica Dodds have shared time in goal for Robert Morris, compiling a 3.33 goals against average.

Mercyhurst leads the all-time series, 33-6-1. The teams split four contests last season.
