MANSFIELD, Pa.- The Mercyhurst field hockey team won, 4-1, at Mansfield Tuesday afternoon.
Kelsey Lovelace scored two goals in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match.

Marissa Faso put the Lakers ahead, 1-0, at the 9:40 mark, as
Emily Burns found her off a penalty corner for Faso's 11
th goal of the year. Both teams had plenty of shots, with the sides combining for 25 tries in the half, but Mercyhurst held a 1-0 edge at the break.

At the 51:17 mark of the second half,
Blair Pembleton assisted on a
Kelsey Lovelace goal, putting the Lakers up, 2-0. A few minutes, Lovelace scored again to expand the margin.
Cayla Slade set up Lovelace's seventh goal of the season at the 59:22 mark.

Less than a minute later,
Alexandra Albright found the back of the net. Slade assisted on Albright's score at the 60:46 mark for a 4-0 difference. Mansfield scored late to get on the scoreboard.

The Lakers attempted 23 shots on goal, as Mansfield tried 19.
Jess Wess recorded 15 saves in net.

Mercyhurst improved to 8-7 overall and 6-5 in the league. Mansfield fell to 2-13 overall and 2-10 in the PSAC. The Lakers play at Slippery Rock on Saturday, November 1, in another PSAC contest.
