ERIE, Pa. – The #11 men's soccer team will host Slippery Rock for Senior Day at Mercyhurst Soccer Field and will honor 11 seniors. On Saturday, October 25, kickoff is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
The Lakers come in to the contest on a nine game winning streak, with a 13-2-0 overall record and are 7-1-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play, after beating California (Pa.) Wednesday night on the road, 3-1. Jack Watson added to his league leading goal total, scoring his 16th goal of the season. Goalkeeper Ryan Arvin also kept his perfect record intact, recording two saves.
Slippery comes in at 9-5-0 overall and 5-3-0 in the PSAC. They are currently fourth in the Atlantic Division, fighting their way for a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) spot. The Rock beat Gannon, 4-3, at home Wednesday. Peter Boylan would score the game winning goal in the 49th minute for their second straight victory.
Mercyhurst leads the all-time series, 18-13-2. The Lakers have won four of the last six dating back to 2010. The last time these two teams matched up was in the PSAC Championship game last season. The Rock came out victorious at Mercyhurst Soccer Field, 2-3, in double overtime.
