ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst field hockey team hosts Indiana (Pa.) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match on Tuesday, October 14. The 4 p.m. game will be part of the Play4theCure initiative to raise breast cancer awareness.

click here. This is the fifth season Mercyhurst will participate in the event.

Mercyhurst is 4-6 overall and 2-4 in the PSAC after a heartbreaking 2-1 double overtime loss to #1 Millersville Saturday.
Blair Pembleton scored to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead in the first half, but Millersville evened the score in the second period. Mercyhurst had several chances to win it in OT, but the Marauders came away with the game-winner in the second extra session.

IUP has a 5-5 record, including a 4-4 PSAC mark. It is coming a 2-1 win over Seton Hill Saturday. The Crimson Hawks scored at the 47:01 mark to go ahead by a goal and held on to defeat the Griffins.

Pembleton is the Lakers' leading scorer with nine goals and five assists.
Marissa Faso has seven goals and two helpers.
Jess Wess has made 65 saves in 10 outings as the starting goalkeeper.

Tia Barndt leads Indiana with three goals, while Chelsea Wanamaker and Haley Fidler each have two goals and an assist. Darian Shuker has started all 10 games in goal, recording a 1.56 goals against average.

Mercyhurst won, 2-1, at IUP September 9.
Kelsey Lovelace scored to put the Lakers ahead in the first half, but Indiana evened the score before halftime. Faso scored at the 45:37 mark to give Mercyhurst the lead again. Wess totaled five saves in the victory.Â
