Men's Basketball Makes Trip to Seton Hill Wednesday Night

ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team plays at Seton Hill on Wednesday, January 29. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division game is set for a 7:30 p.m. start.

The Lakers have a 10-8 overall record and a 6-2 mark in the PSAC. They won, 80-78, at Pitt-Johnstown Saturday. Andy Hoying made the game-winning jumper with 1.9 seconds remaining. He scored a career-high 17 points, while Anthony Lytle registered 12 points and 12 rebounds.
 
Seton Hill is 12-6, including a 4-4 PSAC record. It won, 56-46, at California (Pa.) Saturday. Max Kenyi scored 18 points and Malachi Leonard totaled 12 points and seven rebounds.
 
Jonathan Ouegnin leads the team in scoring (10.5), rebounding (5.3), assists (3.0), and steals (1.6) this season. He is also shooting 56.6 percent from the field. Lytle and Jean Onana are both scoring 9.2 points per game.
 
The Lakers rank fifth nationally in scoring defense, allowing 62.2 points per game. That number stands third in the PSAC.
 
Leonard paces the Griffins with 18.8 points and 9.5 rebounds a game, Lenyi is putting up 13.1 points and 4.2 boards per contest.
 
The Griffins are second in the conference in field goal shooting, hitting 47.1 percent on the season. They rank third in free throw shooting, converting at a 76.6 rate.
 
Mercyhurst took a 79-74 decision from Seton Hill on November 20 at the MAC. Onana scored a career-high 29 points on 9-14 shooting. Ouegnin added 12 points and six rebounds.
