Men's Basketball Hits the Road for Pair of Crossover Games

James Ewing has appeared in all 10 games this season.
ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team will play two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover games this weekend. The Lakers head to West Chester on Friday, January 3, and then play at Cheyney on Saturday, January 4. Both contests are slated for 3 p.m. tip-offs.

Mercyhurst is 5-5 this season. Jonathan Ouegnin leads the Lakers in scoring (12.0), rebounding (5.3), and assists (3.8). The senior is also shooting over 58 percent from the field. Jean Onana is next with 10.3 points on 42 percent three-point shooting. The Lakers are allowing just 61.8 points a game, good for third-fewest in the conference.
 
West Chester is 7-4. Troy Hockaday leads the Golden Rams with 17.3 points, while Eddie Mitchell is scoring 15 points a game. Cory Blake, R.J. Griffin, and Shannon Givens each average over 10 points per outing. West Chester is scoring 80.8 points a game, third-most in the PSAC.
 
Cheyney has a 2-9 mark this season. Deshawn Curtis leads the league with 21.8 points, while his 8.9 rebounds per game rank third. Jerrod Johnson is adding 13.6 points a contest.
 
Neither game counts in PSAC standings.
