Jess Wess had a strong start, making two saves in the opening minutes. As the half moved on, the Warriors controlled possession, but Wess continued to turn away any ESU opportunity. Finally, the hosts struck in the 27th minute. Ally Roth made it 1-0 with an assist from Katie Barbato. Wess posted another save late in the period, giving her six in the first half.

After two more Wess stops, Barbato found the back of the net, making it 2-0 in the 60th minute. Two minutes later, the Warriors scored again. Slade responded, however, getting the Lakers on the board just 33 seconds after ESU's goal. Blair Pembleton recorded her first assist of the year.

Wess finished with nine saves in goal. Slade tallied her first goal of the season. ESU outshot Mercyhurst, 17-6, on the day.
