Men's Basketball Travels to #12 East Stroudsburg Saturday

ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team travels to #12 East Stroudsburg for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover game on Saturday, December 21. The contest is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start at Koehler Fieldhouse.

The Lakers are 5-4 after splitting two crossover games this week. They dropped a 56-55 decision to Lock Haven before defeating Bloomsburg, 66-62.
 
Jonathan Ouegnin leads the team with 12.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. He is shooting 58.9 percent from the field. He ranks third in the PSAC in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1) and fourth in the PSAC in assists. Jean Onana is averaging 9.8 points per game while shooting 50 percent on his three-point attempts. Mercyhurst is allowing 62 points per game, good for third in the conference and 12th in the nation.
 
East Stroudsburg is 10-0 after winning, 76-64, at Slippery Rock and then taking down Edinboro, 102-69, this week.
 
Whis Grant, the defending PSAC Eastern Division Athlete of the Year, paces the Warriors with 18 points per game. Rasheed Moore is adding 14.1 points and 6.5 rebounds a game, while Jamal Nwaniemeka scores 11.4 points per contest. Matt Tobin dishes out 4.6 assists per game, tops in the league. ESU leads the PSAC in scoring at 90.5 points a game. It shoots 49.3 percent as a team, also first in the conference.
