ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team will host two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover games this weekend. The Lakers face Mansfield on Friday, January 4, and then take on Bloomsburg on Saturday, January 5. Both contests are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. starts at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.

Mercyhurst has a 7-4 overall record and a 3-2 PSAC mark. It defeated Notre Dame College, 78-68, on December 30, in its last outing. The Lakers have won five out of their last six contests. They have split their first four conference crossover games in 2012-13.

Mansfield is 3-6 this season, including a 1-4 PSAC mark. After dropping four straight and five of six, the Mountaineers bounced back with a 56-54 win over Flagler (Fla.) on December 30. Their lone conference victory came on December 18 at California (Pa.).

Bloomsburg has struggled to start the season, going 2-7 overall and 0-5 in the league. It has lost six in a row since an 88-86 overtime win against Chestnut Hill November 20.

Senior Luis Leao is having a stellar season, leading the team with 20.9 points (third in PSAC), 7.1 rebounds, and 1.1 blocked shots per game. He is also shooting 52.4 percent from the field. Beau Samuelson could return to the lineup this weekend, having hit 15-26 (.577) of his three-point attempts in seven games. Callon Dailey, Jonathan Ouegnin, Paul Bilbo, and Terrence Ingram are all scoring between 7.7 and 7.9 points per game.

Joe Bell, a preseason all-PSAC East First Team choice, leads Mansfield with 17.8 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Both of those averages rank in the top seven in the PSAC. Chuck Harper is scoring 12.3 points per outing.

Reigning PSAC East Athlete of the Year Dontahe Jordan is the Huskies' top player, posting 14.1 points and 9.9 boards (fourth in PSAC) per contest. Lorenzo Christmas and Charles Haigler are contributing a combined 25.3 points per game.
