ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's basketball team will face #21 Edinboro on Wednesday, January 30. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division game is set for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.

Mercyhurst is tied with Clarion for fifth in the Western Division at 5-8 in the league. The Eagles hold the tiebreaker due to a 64-62 win at Mercyhurst January 16. The top six teams from each division advance to the PSAC Tournament. Mercyhurst is two games ahead of seventh-place Lock Haven and Slippery Rock, who are even at 3-10.
The Lakers have a 5-12 overall record. They lost twice last week, falling at #10 Gannon and at #19 Indiana (Pa.).
Kaylee Foster is scoring 10.4 points per game and
Dana Banda is recording 10.2 points while playing a league-high 36.3 minutes per game.
Abby Allen paces the team with 3 assists and 2.1 steals per outing.
Banda has 359 career assists, good for third in program history. She is three away from tying Teresa Szumigala for second on the all-time list. Katie Lorincz had 384 helpers to top the list.
Edinboro is 14-3 overall and 11-2 in the conference. It has won five in a row, including a win over Slippery Rock Saturday. Prior to that, the Scots beat IUP and Gannon. Kiara Brown and Samantha Blazetic form a strong duo, combining to score 31.2 points per game. They rank 1-2 in scoring in the PSAC. Blazetic is recording 8.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per outing, while Brown is compiling 2.8 steals. Darche' Jackson is next with 10.3 points, 5.3 boards, and 4 assists per game.
Last season, the teams split two meetings, including a 59-58 overtime win on senior night at the MAC. The loss was Edinboro's first of the season and marked Mercyhurst's biggest regular season victory in program history.
