Women's Basketball to Host Clarion at the MAC Wednesday

ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's basketball team plays Clarion in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division game on Wednesday, January 16. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.

The Lakers sport a 4-9 overall record and a 4-5 PSAC mark. They lost, 73-55, at West Chester on January 11 before coming back with a 64-48 victory at Cheyney the next day. Against West Chester, freshman Adrienne Kloecker set three new career highs, putting up 18 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. In the win over Cheyney, the Lakers shot a season-high 55 percent from the field and held the Wolves to 27.8 percent accuracy.
 
Kaylee Foster leads the Lakers with 10.9 points per game. Dana Banda is averaging 9.8 points and 2.7 assists per game. Alayna White is coming off the bench to put up 7.6 points and 4.9 boards per game.
 
Clarion is 7-8 overall and 3-6 in league action. It lost at Mansfield and Bloomsburg last weekend. Hannah Heeter recorded a double-double in each of the two games, compiling 14 points and 10 rebounds against Bloom and 10 points and 10 boards at Mansfield.
 
Heeter paces the Eagles with 14.7 points and 11.9 rebounds per game. She is also shooting 57.3 percent from the floor while blocking 1.7 shots per game. Heeter ranks fourth in the PSAC in scoring, first in rebounding, first in field goal percentage, and fourth in blocked shots. Raven Jones is next with 9.1 points a contest.
