ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team plays two road Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover games this weekend. The Lakers head to West Chester on Friday, January 11, at 7:30 p.m. and then face Cheyney the next day at 3 p.m.

Mercyhurst is 9-4 overall and 5-2 in the PSAC. It has gone 7-1 in its last eight games, including home wins over Mansfield and Bloomsburg last weekend. In an 86-70 victory over Mansfield,
Luis Leao had 25 points and
Jonathan Ouegnin totaled 20 points, 10 assists, and five steals. The following day, the Lakers defeated Bloom, 65-52, as Leao put up 16 points and nine boards.
On the season, Leao is averaging 20.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He is shooting 53.5 percent from the field. Among PSAC players, he is in the top ten in each of those categories. Five other Lakers are scoring between 7.2 and 8.5 points per contest-Ouegnin,
Beau Samuelson,
Callon Dailey,
Paul Bilbo, and
Terrence Ingram. Ouegnin is third in the conference with 2.4 steals and fourth at 4.4 assists per outing. Samuelson paces the league in three-point shooting at 56.8 percent.
West Chester sports a 7-4 record, including a 5-2 mark in the league. The Golden Rams won at Clarion and Lock Haven last weekend. In the win over Clarion, four different players scored in double figures. West Chester followed that with a victory at Lock Haven that featured five Rams in double digits.
Corey Blake leads the team with 11.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Jon Breeden and Carl Johnson are combining for 19.6 points a game.
Cheyney has a 5-6 overall record and a 3-4 PSAC mark. It split two road games last weekend, falling at Lock Haven before bouncing back with a 72-60 win at Clarion. Jason Sabb scored 22 points and pulled down five rebounds in the win over the Eagles.
Sabb is among the leading scorers in the PSAC at 21.5 points. Brandon Norfleet and Deshawn Curtis are also averaging in double figures this season. Norfleet is fourth in the league in three-point field goal percentage at 39.3 percent.
