Box Score ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst field hockey team lost, 8-1, to #1 West Chester Saturday afternoon at Tullio Field. Marissa Faso scored the Lakers' lone goal in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover match.

The Rams came out rolling in the first half, scoring three times in the first 6:09 of play. From there, the hosts had success, culminating in a penalty corner attempt in final minute of the frame. Faso inserted the ball and eventually the Lakers pressured the Ram defense. Faso was able to poke in a loose ball with 10 seconds showing on the clock.

West Chester answered in the second half, putting two more goals on the board early in the period. It would add on several more as action continued.

The Lakers are now 3-8 in 2012. They host Mansfield in a PSAC Western Division contest Wednesday, October 3.
