ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst field hockey team hosts #4 Indiana (Pa.) Saturday, September 22. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division match is set for a 5 p.m. start at Tullio Field.

The Lakers are 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the conference. They are coming off a tough 3-2 loss at #10 Slippery Rock September 18.
Marissa Faso and
Blair Pembleton each scored, while
Jess Wess totaled 17 saves in goal. The Rock scored in the 68
th minute to escape with the victory.
IUP won, 3-1, over #1 Shippensburg September 18. The Crimson Hawks trailed 1-0 early before rallying to hand the Raiders their first defeat of the year.
Indiana beat Mercyhurst, 6-2, September 5 as Nicole Bruce had a goal and two assists.
Meghan Smith and
Tesa Ramsdell both scored for the Lakers in the loss.
In 2012, Faso leads the Lakers with two goals and three assists. Smith and freshman
Cayla Slade each have two goals. Wess has made 71 saves in net.
Bruce paces the Hawks with five goals and nine assists. Goalkeeper Sarah Lemieux is allowing 2.06 goals a game, while stopping 80.5 percent of the shots she faces.
