Women's Soccer Drops to East Stroudsburg Friday, 3-0

Box Score EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's soccer team fell to East Stroudsburg Friday with a score of 3-0.  The Lakers now move to a overall record of 3-2 this season.

Mercyhurst held it together in the first period, shooting six times, with two of them on net.  East Stroudsburg had only seven shots, with three of them on goal, including senior forward Bridget Connell's goal at the 32:23 mark.  She was assisted by senior Marissa Spitler.  Mercyhurst goalie Ellie McDougall was able to keep the Warriors tamed until the start of the second.

Seven minutes into the second half, Warriors sophomore Courtney Keller, assisted by freshman Sammi Jo Hughes, scored her first goal of the season making it 2-0.  Ashley McKenna, also a senior, made the final score 3-0 by scoring at the 77:21 mark.  Hughes recorded her second assist of the game from McKenna's goal.

McDougall drops to a 2-2 overall record as a goaltender for the Lakers, making seven saves and allowing three goals.  Warrior goaltender junior Brittain Wagner moves to 2-0-2 in the season.

The Lakers compete again on the road tomorrow against Bloomsburg University.  Match is set for 7:30 pm.
