ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst University women's tennis team began its home schedule by seeing its four-game winning streak snapped in a 6-3 loss to the Ashland Eagles. The loss dropped the Lakers' record to 7-2.
Caroline Bristol provided Mercyhurst with a win in the No. 1 singles match over Victoria Goudy (6-1, 6-1), while
Taylor Wedlake earned a forfeit win against Kira Kotova in the No. 5 singles match. Afterwards,
Caroline Bristol and
Sarah Baich earned the Lakers' lone win in doubles play, prevailing 9-7 in the No. 1 match over Victoria Goudy and Paige Cooper.
Mercyhurst will return to action on March 25 as they host the Bloomsburg Huskies.
