ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's basketball team will travel to Slippery Rock for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division contest Saturday, February 4. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. at Morrow Field House.

Hurst beat Lock Haven, 80-57, February 1, at the MAC. Junior Dana Banda scored a career-high 25 points, hitting 6-11 field goal tries and 12-13 free throw attempts. She also collected six assists and two steals. Nikki Frederickson added 17 points and eight rebounds as the Lakers tied a season high with 80 points. Slippery Rock fell, 73-50, at Clarion Wednesday, its fifth straight defeat. Senior Danielle Smith posted 16 points and eight rebounds in the loss.
 
Coach Deanna Richard's squad is 9-10 overall and 7-8 in the conference. It is alone in fifth place in the PSAC Western Division, two games behind California (Pa.). The Rock is 5-14 overall and 2-13 in the league. #2 Edinboro has already clinched one of the four West spots in the PSAC Tournament.
 
In the first meeting on January 14, SRU won, 75-67, at the MAC. Paris Thomas led the visitors with 16 points, eight assists, and six steals. Laker freshman Lindsay Stamp scored 24 points, hitting five three-pointers, while Frederickson totaled 21 points, six boards, and five steals.
 
Smith leads the Rock in scoring this season, putting up 13.6 points per game. She is fifth in the PSAC in rebounding at 7.8 boards a contest. Her teammate, sophomore Jasmine Cooper, is just behind, averaging 7.4 rebounds a game. Thomas leads the conference in assists with 5.6 per game, while Erinne Cunningham is third in threes made a game at 2.6.
 
For the Lakers, Frederickson is averaging 13.4 points and 6.8 rebounds. She shoots 58.5 percent from the field, second best in the league. Banda is tied for sixth with 4.4 assists per game.
