ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's basketball team hits the road for two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover games this weekend. The Lakers play at Shippensburg on Tuesday, December 18, and then head to Millersville on Wednesday, December 19. Both contests are set for 5:30 p.m. starts.

The Lakers have a 2-3 overall record and a 2-1 PSAC mark. They beat Lock Haven, 69-55, in the PSAC Western Division opener on December 8. Dana Banda led with 18 points, while Kaylee Foster added 14. Mercyhurst attempted 42 free throws in the game, the most for the program since 2005.
 
Shippensburg has a 6-2 overall mark and a 2-1 PSAC record. The Raiders had a five-game winning streak snapped by Kutztown on December 8. Freshman Stephanie Knauer totaled 24 points and 18 rebounds in a 69-62 loss.
 
Millersville enters the week 5-0, including a 3-0 PSAC mark. It took a 62-55 decision over #16 Bloomsburg on December 8. The Marauders ended the game on a 23-10 run to upset the Huskies. They outrebounded Bloom, 51-28, in the victory. Aurielle Mosley and Miesha Cousins combined for 28 points and 26 rebounds.
 
Foster leads Mercyhurst with 11.6 points per game, while Banda is averaging 9.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per contest. She is also playing 38.6 minutes per game, most in the PSAC.
 
Ship has four players averaging at least 11.3 points per game this season. Sarah Strybuc leads with 14.7 points and 22 made three-pointers. Knauer is putting up 13.8 points and 10.3 rebounds in her rookie campaign. She has been named PSAC Eastern Division Freshman of the Week three times.
 
Millersville also has a balanced attack, as four players score over 12 points per. Carly Gallagher leads the way with 13.4 points, while Mosley is averaging 13.2 points and eight boards. Mashira Newman is posting 12.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 3.3 steals per game.
