EDINBORO, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst University women's tennis team continued to have a perfect weekend at the Fall Crossover Classic, as they shut out the Bloomsburg Huskies 8-0.  The win improved the Lakers' record to 4-0.

Courtney Thompson and Sarah Baich each turned in the most impressive performances of Mercyhurst's singles playt during matches No. 2 and 4.  Katelyn Caniford, Rebecca Haener, and Taylor Wedlake each had increasingly competitive matches, yet they effectively secured victories for the Lakers.  In doubles play, Thompson and Haener had the most stellar outing in the No. 2 match.  The duos of Wedlake & Devon Hubbard and Caroline Brisol & Baich each had tough matches that they ultimately prevailed in, helping Mercyhurst secure back-to-back shut outs.

The Lakers will wrap up the Fall Crossover Classic tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m., as they take on the Shippensburg Raiders.
