Testa Leads the Lakers to 1-0 Win Over Lock Haven Wednesday

ERIE, Pa. – Freshman Lauren Testa scored the game-winning goal with nine minutes left to lead the Lakers to a 1-0 victory over Lock Haven Wednesday afternoon.  The Lakers improved their record to 7-9-1 and are currently 5-2-1 at home with one home match left this season.
 
The match remained scoreless until the 80:41 mark when Mercyhurst had a corner kick opportunity.  Testa took the kick for the Lakers, sailing it right through the goaltenders hands and into the net.  This marked Testa's fourth goal of the season, and her second game-winning goal of the season.
 
The Lakers outshot the Eagles four to ten in the first half.  Lock Haven came back in the second, tying the shots at 10.  The Lakers dominated the corners seven to four.
 
Freshman Ellie McDougall made six saves in net for the Lakers, and improved to 5-7-0 in the season.  Lock Haven's goaltender Dana Wozniak made nine saves in net.
 
The Lakers will have their last regular season match against Gannon University on Sunday, October 28 at 1:00 p.m.  Before the match, the two senior's on the Lakers roster will be honored.
